tied up

all ties can be found at Good Heavens' store on Etsy

I pop on here now and again to see if the ‘me’ that I would like to exist has thrown together a flurry of amazingly inspiring and equally witty words and pictures to amuse anyone who took a wrong turn in the land of the interwebs and ended up here. Alas, my post from June still sits here pedaling toward an unknown destination. So, I can breathe a sigh of relief that I don’t have multiple-personality syndrome but rather, am too busy (ahem…lazy) to share with you the wonders of the world that I sometimes behold, the wonders that result in smiles, good ideas, general nice feelings etc etc.

In my recent internet trawling I have struck fancy with apparel for the fellas.
The one item of guys’ clothes that make me all brow-furrowed, are ties.
What are they for!? What do they do?

  • Hide unsightly buttons?
  • Point to the ground to remind the wearer where feet should be?
  • An indicator of importance in relation to available time?
eg. Tie (both fat and skinny part) waving over one shoulder like a kite tail = wearer is very important and is very pressed for time so don’t bother stopping him to ask if he would like to try a sample of your new yoghurt – too busy, too important.

That being said, I like a good tie.
Perhaps they are the necklace for the well-dressed gentleman?

Yes, of course, time and place and all of that… a tie is not necessary for a hasty supermarket trip to procure a new toothbrush.
But when it is the time for ties, I say get onboard with a well-considered knot at the neck.

The above collar-huggers, from Good Heavens in South Africa, saw where cartoon character and sport-themed ties headed and have mapped a course in the opposite direction… forging onward into the great lands of good sense and pleasant evenings.

And what happy timing… Here is spring right now!

  1. Hello there! Thanks for the fab feature - although, would like to point out our brand and shop is called 'Good Heavens', not 'Fubuki'
    Cheers!
