pedal pushers

Learning to ride a bike requires a sizeable serve of brain-juice, co-ordination, resilience and sheer determination.


That is a big ask for most kids. 


So, correct me if I am wrong, but I would imagine it is an even bigger ask for a bird, fox, octopus or dog of the 'canine' or 'hot moustached' variety (see above). Yet.... here they are perched atop pedal-powered wheelables.
These creatures are going places. 
Hats off to the guy steering the boiled bread get-about - engineers and bakers unite!


They say you never forget how to ride a bike... I wonder if that applies to goldfish?

seeing through the fog

Well hello there... A whole season has passed and with it: essays, falling leaves, Grace Kelly's dresses, too many pots of Chai to count on my hands and toes and a whole list of other inconsequential things that will bore you to tears. Tears too great to be soaked up by a supermarket shelf full of tissues.
Anyway... Now it is cold and I have to take my glasses off when I'm drinking tea because they fog up.
But forget the lens haze, I can still see the bright side (and so can you) to ashen clouds and puddled paths.

Why have the blues when you can have a whole bucket load of colours!?

It's been nice to see your face again.

p.s. Though I have scoured the website - I can't quite put my finger (or mouse) on the function of these ceramic goodies but they look so good to my eyes that I don't care!

gotta hand it to ya!

Hands are an odd thing if you think about them too hard. Thus, I suggest thinking of them fondly because like the rest of the human body, they seem to complement everything else that's going on in terms of what one's body needs to do. You know, performing menial tasks in order to survive and all that.


Hands go one step further (of course, I am aware that such a cliche relates to the end-of-leg bits... nevertheless, its use is not intended literally). Hands are a means of connection, communication, consolation and probably a good alliterative collection of other words. 
They can speak for those who have no voice...
They can pat someone on the back...
They can offer abrupt feedback on one's driving abilities... 


What can I say, hands are pretty... uh... handy...!?


So, when was the last time you wrote a hand-written note? Or held someone's hand? Or carried things for someone with their hands full (either literally or metaphorically)?


Why don't you consider tonight, a thumbs up to hands and a challenge to lend one to someone who might need it.

cut out to be comical




Oh where, oh where has my little blog gone!? Oh where, oh where can it be!?

Well, it is still here at the same address, waiting patiently for me to shake off my heat-wrecked, lethargy-drenched inspiration doldrums. 

This evening I have managed little more than to shrug a teensy bit of apathy due to the fact that I found these smile worthy creations from Wilhelm Staehle at Silhouette Masterpiece Theatre.

From the delightful collection of paper cut silhouettes layered on various backgrounds of artwork and patterns coupled with witty wordings, down to Wilhelm's Bio, this site wrenches my happy face into place when it has been teetering a little too close to melting into the carpet.

I implore you to explore, stay cool and be happy.

[one] via booooooom [two] via design is mine


By now you should be aware that it is a new year and updated the relevant diary and calendar bits about your home and office. Maybe, if you're one of them on-the-ball types, you have even managed to stop typing '2011' thus sparing your delete key the headache of relentless finger tapping.


I've never really made new year's resolutions before, but this year there were a few thoughts of a 'resolute' quality loitering in my gray-matter. 


Some are enjoyably silly (but imperatively practical) while others reflect lessons-rather-not-learned...


Amidst the menial and melancholy, my little potato buddy upstairs neatly sums up some of my most positive thoughts of resolve. Partnered with it's neighbour, the bright, loopy artwork by Kirra Jamison, I am reminded that without inspiration life gets pretty boring.


2012 - inspiring good stuff
